82 - Anger - Rating: PG
Jun. 10th, 2008 12:08 pmLucas rarely got angry. He rarely showed any signs of violence or anything more than just irritation, and a good deal of that was directed, though affectionately, at MacManus. But the real anger, the absolute rage that boiled up from within to make emerald eyes flash and cast deadly spells only ever occurred when Locien was in mortal danger.
The first time it happened, anger over came the fear at seeing Locien so brutally wounded. Without the least hesitation, Lucas raised one arm and cast a spell with such deadly calm, he felt entirely detached. The target staggered, clutched at his heart and dropped, felled immediately by a spell that could slay any living thing.
It was only then Lucas dropped to Locien’s side, casting healing spells that drew life and strength back into him, closing and mending wounds.
The anger in Lucas’s eyes hadn’t quite died, and Locien caught a glimpse of that emerald fire, a stark contrast to the gentle innocence the cleric usually wore.
Lucas rarely got angry, but when he did, anyone who dared threaten love or friend would likely not survive the encounter.
