Day 30 of 31_days. Seeing as how April only has 30 days, this is the last one, guys. Hope you enjoyed it!
And this isn't about archangels. Their names are just coincidentally both angelic. XD
No one ever liked writing that crappy ‘where do you see yourself in ten years’ essay every sophomore or junior or even senior in high school go plagued by teachers to write. That was usually because few of them had any idea what they wanted to do with their lives.
Gabriel wasn’t looking forward to it any more than his classmates were. Or at least he hadn’t been. His life had changed rather dramatically over the last few months, and for the first time, he honestly felt he had direction. Goals. Plans even. And he knew something his classmates didn’t, one thing that made him smile as he wrote his essay.
Gabe was always good at science. Not so much in any other subject really, but science was his thing. He liked kids, and he liked biology and health. Considering his own, it seemed damn logical his career portion of the easy was geared on becoming a doctor or scientist studying juvenile diabetes, in hopes to one day help find a cure.
But that wasn’t the part that made him smile. It was the personal bits of the essay, the parts that flowed far easier, about who he wanted by his side, who he hoped to spend his life with that had him blushing as he handed in his essay, to later be read by his teacher who would only wonder who this ‘Angel’ was.
His expression was shyer and redder still when he got it back, an A marked on it, when he gave it to Michael to read. He sat, twitching and twiddling his thumbs as the older boy read Gabe’s hopes for the future, and he knew by the smile on his Angel’s face when he finished, that he wanted it every bit as much.
There was little Gabe was ever surer of that this. The future wasn’t definite, and maybe he wouldn’t be the one to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. But so long as he was searching for the future with Michael at his side, that was all the happiness he would ever need.
